Rev. Barnetta Emerson

Rev. Barnetta W. Emerson, a native of Lexington, Kentucky, serves as a David Chapel associate minister and the church Outreach Coordinator and leader of the Wellness Ministry. She is also a Registered Nurse with a wide range of nursing experience including medical surgical nursing, oncology nursing, occupational health nursing.

Rev. Emerson is a graduate of Kentucky State University in Franklin with a degree in Nursing Education.  She is currently employed as a public health nurse with the Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services’ African American Quality of Life Health Initiative. She is continuing her education at the Austin Graduate School of Theology, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Ministry and Christian Studies.

Rev. Emerson accepted the call to ministry in the spring of 2001 and was licensed to preach by David Chapel on August 14, 2004.

Her hobbies include reading, crafting, decorating, learning new languages and checking out hidden treasures behind store fronts and people in the Austin area.

Rev. Emerson is the wife of Deacon Robert T. Emerson; she has two beautiful daughters – Robyn and Rashauna, and two lovely granddaughters, Brittney and Desiree’ Williams.
