REVEREND ROBERT TAPSCOTT, JR.
ASSOCIATE MINISTER
Rev. Robert Tapscott, Jr., a native of Houston, Texas, serves as a David Chapel associate minister and gives leadership to David Chapel's Visiting Angels Jail Ministry to Men and the Angel Tree Project, part of the Prison Fellowship Ministry. He graduated from M. B. Smiley High School in 1970. Rev. Tapscott attended San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas majoring in Mathematics. At The University of Houston, he majored in Business Administration and has taken theology courses at the Austin Baptist Association.
Rev. Tapscott accepted the call to the preaching ministry on September 4, 1988, at First Shiloh Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He joined David Chapel in May 1990. Currently, he gives leadership to David Chapel's Visiting Angels Jail Ministry to Men and the Angel Tree Project which is part of the Prison Fellowship Ministry. His hobbies are playing the clarinet, reading, writing, and singing. Rev. Tapscott also enjoys tutoring youth in reading, math and history, talking to young people about education and drug abuse, and helping people who are mentally and physically challenged.
Rev. Tapscott is married to Sandra G. (Elie) Tapscott. They have seven children, Tammi, Lionel, Mellonee, Kenny, Kenni, Lakisha, and Stacey.
